Re: EnvisaLink 4, can you add on cellular/phone backup notification?
I have a EVL3, dual WAN capable router, and a UPS for both. I'm just starting research on a cell for the EVL3. I could easily add a USB modem as a failover on the router, but the UPS will only carry it for a few hours. I seem to have frequent day-long internet service interruptions and so this was ...

Re: Attempting to program vista 20p using Eyez-On Envisalink
dcuste, Excellent point. Using Bypass, instead of a programming change is way easier and much safer in most situations. Not much I can say in my defense -- at the time we were going to be gone for a lengthy period, had a tamper zone that was going to need to be inactive for part of it, and had a ...

Re: Attempting to program vista 20p using Eyez-On Envisalink
Yes, you can easily program a 20p with evl3. But, it is a little risky if you are a long ways away. Of course, this is reason you need to program using evl3, rather than the panel. It is risky in that it could stop mid string and you have no way of knowing what to do next. If that happens, you have ...

Re: Home Automation with Envisalink 3 & Vista20P
Have two houses -- one old and one new -- both with EVL3 and x-10. Started out a little rough, but now extremely reliable. Your results may vary, depending on your electrical system. Once I figured out that the x10 signal didn't cross the electrical phases very well, I added a simple phase coupler ...

Re: Set PC1616 time from Envisalink?
Wizard, Thanks. Many will appreciate the multiple time zones on the portal. While they are setting up separate zones for each location, would it be possible to also separate the Custom Sequence memory for each location? I use 20p systems and use different custom sequences for each. It would be VERY ...

Re: Set PC1616 time from Envisalink?
GrandWizard, Tried to follow your guidance for automatic time and date setting, but couldn't find Manage Device in the portal. Is this only for DSC and not Honeywell? I have 20p systems and I'm not using mobile, if that makes a difference. Also, if we can use it for Honeywell and we set it to auto ...

Re: Remote chirp and remote burglary activation via portal
dcuste, A "press and hold * and # to activate a panic alarm" would be the only way some of us could use this feature. Yes, Function B was originally programmed as a zone 99 and this does work through the Portal. However, as people also use these Function Keys for everyday things to turn on and off ...

Re: Remote chirp and remote burglary activation via portal
GrandWizard, Portal Alarm Activation : I believe this would be a valuable tool for your customers. Sure, Honeywell designed it to be keypad initiated, but that doesn’t mean it should only be from a keypad. If you look out your window and see a guy using a crowbar on your door to gain entry --- you w ...

Re: Remote chirp and remote burglary activation via portal
GrandWizard, Portal Alarm Activation : Thanks again for your offer to have the Portal folks program the “press and hold *and # for two seconds” to activate a Panic Alarm remotely. We’re sure they have priority tasks, but could you give us a ballpark guess as to how long this might take? Thanks. Chir ...

Re: Remote chirp and remote burglary activation via portal
Great!
Still working on the chirp coding, but for now please ask the Portal folks to set up a way for Honeywell Vista20 owners to replicate the "press and hold * and # for two seconds."
Thanks. I will get back to you if I can figure out some coding for the chirp.
