Re: CO Detector intermittent trouble

It happens.. but please don't ever suggest to anyone to go out and buy a new CO detector to verify a CO alarm, you could get someone killed!! If your CO detector appears to be arbitrarily firing, esp. at o'dark thirty in the morning, how should you go about diagnosing the problem, then? You would ...

Re: CO Detector intermittent trouble

The OP stated the CO detector is going into trouble at random times, not into alarm . ... A trouble condition means there is a problem with the detector, the tamper switch has activated, or the CO detector is out of wireless range. It does not mean CO is present in the house. Ah. Good eye. My bad ...

Re: CO Detector intermittent trouble

The OP stated the CO detector is going into trouble at random times, not into alarm . What system do you have and what's the model number of the wireless CO detector. A trouble condition means there is a problem with the detector, the tamper switch has activated, or the CO detector is out of ...

Re: Vista 15p with 2gig gocontrol

The vista 15p and the 2gig go control are two completely separate alarm systems. It appears like the old homeowner had a perfectly good working hardwired alarm system (vista 15p), and either the homeowner, or an alarm company swapped it out with the crappy all in one 2GIG system. It looks like they ...

Re: Found new product that enables fire alerts for EVL3 etc.

That's worse than using the "firefighter" module. Now you're mixing high voltage equipment with low voltage equipment. If you want to add fire/CO protection on your security system, do it the right way or don't do it at all. It's safe. They are dry contacts and there are literally hundreds of high ...

Re: Envisalink DSC trouble alerts - AC power fail not messag

I always get AC Loss and restore messages within 15 seconds of them occurring on my Vista 21ip. I also had the same results with the 20p. However this is using Total Connect 2.0 and not the envisalink 3. I know someone who has the envisalink 3 on their 20p and I don't recall the AC Loss messages ...

Re: Found new product that enables fire alerts for EVL3 etc.

What started the fire in the kitchen? Also what kind of smoke detector was the 110v (ionization or photoelectric)? Most people don't know there are two different technologies used in smoke detectors (photoelectric and ionization). Ionization smokes are used in the majority of houses, especially when ...

Re: Found new product that enables fire alerts for EVL3 etc.

Relying on the Firefighter to alert you of a fire is a big mistake. 1. The device does not supervise the interconnected smoke detectors. All alarm panels supervise the smoke detectors programmed into the panel, this includes hardwired and wireless smokes. If a problem were to occur with one of the ...

Re: Get Status of PIR when system is armed

Unfortunately the Envisalink is unable to detect open sensors on the vista panels while the system is armed. Hopefully, a newer or updated Envisalink module will solve this problem. The only way you will be able to see an open sensor while armed, is to use Total Connect 2.0, an AUI keypad such as ...
