Re: Network Supervision Fault - a question about accountabil

When I switched from my 2DS connecting to the eyez-on servers to an EVL3 which connected (via Connect2Go) to my alarm company's monitoring server, I too would get network outage reports, but from my alarm company. Like the OP, my network was working fine. But I noticed the problem seemed to be when ...

Re: SMS Messages

The company that I use for monitoring recently switched to allowing internet-based monitoring via the EVL3. That allowed me to dump my second phone line, which was pretty much exclusively for the alarm panel. But if that's not a concern to you, I don't see any significant reason to upgrade a 2DS, at...

Re: SMS Messages

I've just upgraded my 2DS to an EVL3 and switched over to Connect2Go's service, and I too have discovered that e-mail to [mynumber]@pcs.rogers.com isn't working. Your post is very timely. Since I also have a normal e-mail address configured, I used the 'from' address for that, which is "noreply...

Re: Envisalink 2DS & Security Of Access to my alarm system

This isn't an "official" reply, but... On your mobile device, if you're concerned about security, you'll have a password on the device. A lot of people learn *that* the hard way. If your system is armed, then even if somebody accesses the link they can't disarm the system without knowing y...

Three change requests...

The first I'd made a while back, but I think it was in another thread and probably got lost... 1) I really wish the "Zone Activity" list on the website (and mobile site) was sorted by time (most recent at the top) rather than by zone number. It just seems to make that much more sense, and ...

Re: New JQM Smartphone & Tablet Portal - Available Now

It works great on my Windows Phone. Many thanks! Brad. Edit: Ahh, spoke a bit too soon. Are the "Zone Activity" and "Recent Events" screens supposed to scroll? For some reason the controls used for those lists aren't scrollable on the Windows Phone. I can just see the top 5 items.

Re: NTP Time Sync?

I was reading a news story just a few weeks ago about how power authorities in the US are considering loosening the requirements on line frequencies to allow drift of upwards of 10%. There was some discussion about how older devices that relied on the 60Hz line frequency for clock maintenance would ...

Re: "Network Supervision" timeout a bit too sensitive?

Sorry for the delayed response. I'll monitor this more closely. I don't think this is a hardware failure, because I can pretty much always tie the alert with an actual ISP disconnect (the hazards of wireless ISPs). But my own ISP monitoring software reports outages of under 2 minutes most of the tim...

"Network Supervision" timeout a bit too sensitive?

Somewhere in the forums, the reference to the "Line cut" network supervision says that the alert will be triggered if the server doesn't hear from the module for over 5 minutes. What I'm seeing is that I'll get an alert if my internet goes down for even less than 1 minute. I'm on wireless ...
