I think you can only do that if you mark the area you want to track as "Zone Follower". But don't do that if this area is going to be continuously opening and closing (i.e. a PIR sensor located in a hallway) because it's going to generate too much traffic.

This weekend I also lost all alerts from the system. Later I found out that my gmail account was sending all eyez-on email alerts to the spam folder. I don't know if this is your case, but maybe it helps.

I strongly advise you against it....you're kind of downgrading the protection that your alarm system is giving you. A thieve only needs to steal your garage opener to enter freely to your home.
