Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation
This is really just a big hammer to tell users that if you're going to be reckless with your LAN security and let the world have access to your Envisalink, at least change the default password. Sheesh. IMHO (and fully realizing no one asked) the hammer isn't big enough. It's a disservice as it ...

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation
Geez, now it seems very academic... First -- Yes, tell your user(s) to change the default password. I tell my users to NEVER expose their envisalink TPI port outside of an encrypted network. Changing the password does not make the TPI secure. Whether they change their password for internal use is ...

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation
I guess. Bit academic though - doesn't matter if it's invalid 'cause it's short or invalid 'cause it's a bad checksum, I discard it in either case. What I'm trying to sort out is whether the envisalink itself has sent an invalid message or it's been corrupted while traversing the network. Which is ...

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation
Thanks. I am using the TPI port and typically I'm catching connect-reset ok (e.g. when the envisalink TPI is already in use by another client). I do test for EOS as in the TPI (and unlike in HTTP) this signals the TPI connection has been terminated and is an error. Up till now I haven't had a need ...

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation
Ok, that's easy, thanks! The bad checksum must a network problem.

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation
I wasn't able to find information about what is returned when the TPI is blocked by the envisalink firewall. I've seen my app report an invalid checksum - is this a sign that the request has been blocked? (I'm using a 2DS so I'm not able to check this myself).

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation
It's probably too late for the previous poster, but the answer is that the send keys command is limited to 6 characters; if you need to send a longer string you must break it up into multiple commands. It might be important to mention in the section that warns: "IMPORTANT: Envisalink Application ...

Re: Envisalink 2DS - TPI Documentation
Makes sense, thanks. I'll have to check out that "eh" key. A truly Canadian version should contact Tim Horton's

Re: Envisalink 2DS - TPI Documentation
Hi guys, another doc question if I may. I don't see a way to send a function key to the panel, am I right to assume it's not possible? Or can I send a function key the same way I did on the IT100 - characters a-f were function key 1-5, and I could also send the Fire/Ambulance/Police keys that way ...
