Re: Will this Work: Honeywell 5816 Wireless Sensors with the EnvisaLink 4

Thought I'd give everyone an update on my progress. I've ordered the Vista 20P, and EnvisaLink EVL-4 ordered today. I plan on using a Samsung SmartThings integration to integrate it into my Home Automation System. Thank you fellas for all your assistance.

GrandWizard wrote:No, the Lynx is not compatible at all. That data-out line and sync-in is for X-10 powerline carrier devices.

Sorry but you'll have to switch to a 20P if you want to use the Envisalink. They are pretty cheap.
I feared that was the answer! Thanks GrandWizard.

Re: Will this Work: Honeywell 5816 Wireless Sensors with the EnvisaLink 4

I have dealt with Sherman at A&E Security on many occasions and is who I purchased my EVL4 from. It was 94.00, cheapest I could find at the time, which it still shows the same price at the link below (right hand side of the page, listed under "Monthly Specials"; http://www.aesecurity....

So as you can read from the title I have an older Honeywell LynxR 2 Security System. I would like the benefits of the EVL-4 while using what I have on hand. The EVL-4 is designed to work with HW Vista Panels and I thought since the LynxR 2 is the progenitor of these panels I might be able to shoehor...

Re: Will this Work: Honeywell 5816 Wireless Sensors with the EnvisaLink 4

I have an EVL4 in an Ademco/Honeywell Vista 20P panel, using a Honeywell 6162rf keypad. Nearly all of my zones are wired, but, I do have a Ademco/Honeywell 5800PIR-COM wireless motion sensor and a Honeywell 5822T wireless Garage Tilt Sensor. Everything works like a champ. And, yes: The wireless zon...
