Re: Cannot connect to Envisalink server

I've determined from the log file (see below) that the problem is not related to the Eyez-On remote server. The communications break is occurring when the Homeseer plugin is unable to reach the EVL-4 device on the LAN. It tries seven times and is then able to reconnect. This exact pattern repeats it...

Re: Cannot connect to Envisalink server

Crikey, Thanks for helping problem-solve this. 198.61.170.85 is pingable from my network. I don't think I did the reconfiguration of the network wrong, since I have 82 devices on the LAN, and the other 81 are having no communications issues, and haven't for the past nine months. I did forget to open...

Cannot connect to Envisalink server

Hi, I have an EVL-4 board that is working properly on my local network - it connects properly to my alarm system and to my home automation system. The EVL shows that it is not connected to the Envisaslink server, although it knows the IP address of the server (198.61.170.85). I have a few questions:...

Re: No site configured at this address

Well, the problem seems to be resolved. I'm not sure what the cause was,but I think I was misreading my device MAC addresses and confusing the Envisalink with several other Ademco devices on my network.

Sorry for the trouble - issue resolved.

No site configured at this address

Hi, I've been using the Envisalink4 for several years without incident. Recently, my Homeseer system cannot connect to the Envisalink4, and the 'Online' light is off (the other four lights are on). I've powered down and factory reset the device. The Envisalink has an IP address, and I can ping the d...

Re: Do I need to communicate to the Eyez-On server?

Hi, Thanks. Apologies if I am using the wrong terminology or making incorrect assumptions. I'm trying to infer from your responses the actual answers to my questions, and I think we are making progress in that regard. Let me know if what I've written below is correct. First, I am guessing that "...

Re: Do I need to communicate to the Eyez-On server?

Thanks for the quick response. I should have been more precise in my comments. I would, as you suggest, never expose the Envisalink for remote access. I have secure remote access to PCs on my home network, and I would use that access to locally access the Envisalink via the LAN. It would be the PCs,...

Do I need to communicate to the Eyez-On server?

Hi, I'm a new user of Envisalink 4 (connected to an Edemco Vista 20P panel and Homeseer). I'm getting about a dozen errors a day of the following type: Apr-22 03:03:34 ERROR Receiver::Run() A socket error has occured: Unable to read data from the transport connection: A connection attempt failed bec...
