Re: Suggestion -- Optional Mounting box for the EV3

dsc already sells boxes with the holes in the right location for this - its the same as any of the expansion modules. They are pricey and any electrical box will do, just get a 3/8 plastic compression tube for a tap, snip off 1/2" pieces of it, get some 1" tek screws that self drill (#6) and ...

Re: Help me test an instant notification system

I agree with gw on this one - I use for various carriers through eyezon and with my own monitoring and I have sent thousands of them and I get them instantly. In Canada the only issues I found were the lower end rogers resellers (fido etc) just completely suck at this and it costs money, bell and ...

Re: Thermostat?

I got the ct30 from aartech which I think is pretty close to you - 99 so quite a step up to 220, not sure if its an actual sale or its always marked down like they have it right now.

Re: New install on 20P

The port forwarding you asked about can be done on your router (assuming you have something above the absolute most garbage ones available).

BUT unless you are forwarding into a vpn or tunnel its not safe to have that exposed directly to a wan ip address.

Re: Thermostat?

BTW - I see exactly what you mean about sluggish response - its a 5min contact schedule. The portal also seems to forget I am logged in during its ajax operations if I let the page sit for a while.

Re: Thermostat?

Hey Mike - I know you are in Ontario - where did you find the 80 and at what price ? I got mine installed and setup (which for me to start and finish a project in one night is a miracle). Couple bumps in the road which if anyone from radiothermostat is reading you should be able to fix. - I ...

Re: Thermostat?

I have one on the way as well.

Anyone have experience with its big brother ct80 ? seems like it combines humidistat etc into the same device, which if its not totally rediculous in price would be worth it.

Re: EnvisaLink 3 Concerns

Is the supervision lost considered a follower and throttled or is it supposed to be instant (I realize there is some window to determine the supervision was lost in the first place) ? Does the module simply try to contact the servers on a schedule if there is no event pending and if it can't it just ...

Re: Yards Signs - Security Problem?

Not sure why people think you can't use cellular with eyez-on - check out the products by cradlepoint among others - router that uses cable/pppoe as the primary connection and either a sim directly in it or a usb based "rocketstick" for cellular data plan backup. There are many pieces of hardware ...
