EVL4 vs 3 (multiple connections)
I think I read someplace that the 4 version will support up to 4 connections while the 3 version would only support 1. I do know that when I tried a second connection to the 3 version (via software) that the results were "undefined" (sometimes the existing 1st connection would drop, sometimes the ...

Beta Testers for EV3/DSC Alarm Monitor - Windows
I have just completed a Windows application that monitors DSC systems with an Envisa|ink EV3 (probably EV2 as well). If anyone (first 10) is interested in a free Beta copy please let me know by PM. I'll need you email address so I can send you a copy. The application consists of 2 parts, the Server ...

Re: Envisalink 2DS - TPI Documentation
I've been sending a poll every minute. That should be keeping it alive. I've also periodically been requesting timer dumps. However, I get into a state where I can successfully send data to the card but the receive side blocks indefinitely after some time averaging about 15 minutes. The longest I've ...

Re: Envisalink 2DS - TPI Documentation
One, hopefully final question.
It is possible to maintain a connection to the board indefinitely as long as you periodically send a 000 - Poll and/or a 074 - Keep Alive? I've tried, and as far as I can tell it doesn't help.
I don't think the problem is on my end, but ...

Re: Envisalink 2DS - TPI Documentation
I tried using Send Keystrokes to bypass zone 02. The entire string is" 071*102#". I get an error 500021 which says "partition out of bounds. The documentation does say something about a partition in the string so I tried adding that. That does work (maybe - see below). I can get it to work by ...

Re: Envisalink 2DS - TPI Documentation
Actually, I'm pretty sure I was successfully using an 8 character password for the local Envisalink password on the web page. I did notice that the doco said that it took 1-6 characters for the TPI password. Maybe I just didn't remember what password I was using on the web page since I'm using Last ...

Re: Envisalink 2DS - TPI Documentation
I have 2 TPI questions. 1. The documentation says: "Use the password you use for the local Envisalink" web page. However, it also says that the passwords are 1 - 6 characters long. In fact, TPI will NOT accept > 8 character passwords. The web page will accept > 6 characters. (a) It is very annoying ...

Supervision/Line Cut Events Late or Never?
I had a recent need to shut down my network for over an hour. On another day I shut the alarm system down for about 45 minutes. Even though I am signed up for Line/Cut Supervision events I did not get any notification. People keep saying "Get GSM because that way your phone/internet line can't be ...

Re: envisalink 3 and wireless bridge
I have. iogear GWU627 ($25). For the power supply, I cut a mini USB cable (this is what the iogear uses) to get at the +5V/Ground wires (they are red and black). Connected those to a 10-14V to 5V DC-DC step-down from eBay ($10, current-logic.com has similar looking ones, not sure what brand mine is ...

Re: New Feature Requests
OK, I looked at the DSC Keypad app. The UI looks good and works well, but it looks like it is intended to work only from your local network since there is no security. Is this true? I did see the related DSCServer. That apparent looks like it requires a full time data connection on a phone or tablet ...
