Re: EVL 4, DSC and lost installer code - hacking my own system

Any luck? If I've done my math right you should have tried all of them by now... A handy thing to know if it works, and potentially a selling feature for envisalink... lost install codes does come up once it a while, usually after a move or when leaving an alarm company. It is a little bit disturbin...

Re: EVL 4, DSC and lost installer code - hacking my own system

From some googling I got the impression that clicks = Lockout is enabled, but people on the internet can often be confused. Including, especially me! It was a very long time ago, so go with the internet majority. I don't recall which, I only remember DLS worked and I didn't need to reprogram the en...

Re: EVL 4, DSC and lost installer code - hacking my own system

It was a long time ago so I don't recall the exact sequence, but the old guy taught me something about rebooting the system while DLS was running on the PC and connected to the DSC connected over the serial port. The programming contents downloaded at boot and the installer code was revealed there. ...

Re: Vista panel expand capabilities for HA

I have a paid android app "DscServer" that extends DSC panels with automation, allows integration with alexa and google assistant, and even provides a way to integrate into HomeKit and Siri. It works by using the envisalink locally to talk to a server running on a low end android device to...

Re: EVL 4, DSC and lost installer code - hacking my own system

There is a way to recover the installer code using a serial port and the DSC software, asking on one of the DSC installer security forums might uncover it if you can find an old guy there to respond. IIRC the installer lockout prevents using the hardware system reset (you won't hear the relay clicks...

NVM, found it - my GF had my supervisor code from a long time ago and used that. Whew :).

UserOpening with code 0041?

I was surprised to find my DSC system disarmed when I woke this morning. It was disarmed using code 0041 around 4:00am this morning (eastern). I'd armed it in stay mode last night.

Re: Homekit support

HomeKit has pretty heavy for encryption so I'd have to guess it'd be a completely new device for native support. DscServer users can see the envisalink on HomeKit by using AutomationManager for IoT plus HomeBridge for AutomationManager - similar but runs on an old android device (where the DscServer...

Re: New Feature Requests

Cool.

Unfortunately I'm only able to support DSC panels with the DscServer, I don't have access to a vista panel.

Re: New Feature Requests

You could use the TPI for this, it already has the correct API calls.

I use the TPI in my DscServer app for exactly this and more. I also have a homebridge app that bridges the DscServer to HomeKit and to echo (and to google home) for those that don't want to wait.
