Re: EVL-4 TPI timestamps drifting badly

As I said on another post, the time on this system is only accurate to the minute so just ignore the seconds portion. It does not come from the panel and the EVL2/3/4 do not have an onboard RTC as the security panel is responsible for that. This is a slave device.

Re: Automatic Network Time Updates Now Available

I should have added, given that the panel clock is only available to the minute, then the behavior makes sense, 20 seconds ahead was the wrong minute, so I can see that triggering a time update. I suppose the best a time update from the envisalink can do is set the panel to be between 0 and 59 seco...

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation

In computer science that is how bits are oriented. Bits go from 7-0, left to right.

As for being a bummer, that is just how DSC does it. We can't even get zone bypassing at all on Honeywell panels.

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation

That's probably true. I can see how it would only work for partition 1.

I will ask that a note be placed in the documentation.

Network Supervisory Beta Testers Wanted

Do you receive multiple supervisory faults per day? Is this driving you mad? Well maybe you're a good candidate for Envisalink BETA firmware and should join the BETA program. BETA test firmware transmits a lot more diagnostics than release firmware so there may be hope in diagnosing exactly what on ...

Re: EnvisaLink 4 Power Outage Concern Valid?

This is terrific information which I don't recall seeing in any other post. Do you have an official source for this information that you can link to? Because this should be stickied someplace as a cautionary tale against static leases. And is this true of setting a reserved ARP on the router rather...

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation

I can't seem to find any documentation on code "616" which is being sent from my panel. The raw code I get is, for example: 61600002000000000009F or... 6160000220000000000A1 And I am assuming this is code 616 with the data 0000200000000000 I suspect it has something to do with zone bypass...

Re: EnvisaLink 4 Power Outage Concern Valid?

I and others have had experiences where if the EVL - in my case the 3 - keep power while the a portion of the network loses it, the EVL refuses to re-connect for some period of time after power is restored to the network. I have a recent example from a property that is 130 miles away. The EVL3 is a...

Re: EnvisaLink 4 TPI Issues: Regular timeouts

There are no open tickets nor recent bug reports for the TPI (apart for documentation issues).

If you are a developer you can submit a bug report but you need to also send in a PCAP file (tcpdump) capturing the issue.

Also make sure you are running the latest version of firmware too.

Re: Problem connecting to EVL3 TPI

Your forgot your CR LF at the end of your string. Also, you can't send your login string until you get the 5053 prompt. Packet Sender may send your string immediately after the socket is setup which is too soon. When doing your python development, don't forget to run tcpdump or wireshark at the same...
