Re: New Feature Requests

Feature Request: Dedicated SMS "From" account. I use zone following with SMS alerts, but really hate how the notifications come from random numbers. Please explore a way for the alerts to come from one dedicated number. Many thanks, Keith That has nothing to do with Envisalerts, that is t...

Re: DSC EnvisaLink3 Warm Start

No problem. No, if you have a complete loss-of-power on the panel or even a "brown-out", you will get a Cold Start event. Warm Start means the panel rebooted without losing memory-state. This is a very important distinction for regulatory bodies. Your alarm service provider could be trying...

Re: DSC EnvisaLink3 Warm Start

Not to get too technical but a warm-start means that the DSC panel rebooted due to a watch-dog reset. The watch-dog is a separate module in an embedded device, like a security panel, that watches the operation of the main microprocessor. If it stops behaving normally, or completely locks-up, the wat...

Re: cmd 616 response changed after latest firmware upgrade (EVL-4 on DSC 1864)

You need to have the partition actually READY to issue a bypass command (*1#). So just seeing 655, 750 or 751 may not be enough. Wait for 650 and then issue your *1#.

Why are you looking at bypassed zones after arming anyhow? On DSC systems all bypassed zones are reset after disarming.

Re: Bug in Envisalink4 firmware 121 ?

1.1.121 is the current release revision. There has to be more than 5,000 customers with that version and no issues at all reported.

Re: Zone timer dump from Envisa Link 4

We found a potential scenario whereby the TPI connection locks up for a couple of minutes and needs a socket reset to recover. You need a pretty noisy network to cause it to happen. If you want to try some beta code email Eyezon support and ask for the BETA update. You will have to turn off your fir...

Re: Zone timer dump from Envisa Link 4

I will take a look at LED status update. Not that I think it is better, but that I maybe get more usable info... But will that also reset the timer counting against the reboot???? What you say in the last text section about the zone dump, I agree. I can come up with a few ideas... - Maybe there is ...

Re: Zone timer dump from Envisa Link 4

There is a case where we send the zone-timer dump asynchronously and that is when we have a potentionally stalled TCP connection and another connection comes in. Normally the second connection is just dropped but in order to test the state of the connection we force a timer dump. If it fails then we...

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation

Sorry Guys, missed this conversation. Yes, the TPI checksum is completely useless and I don't even check it on my test apps. The TPI protocol comes from the DSC PC5401 module which our company manufactured for DSC before I even graduated from school. It was used over an RS-232 interface which indeed...

Re: Envisalink - TPI Documentation

I wasn't able to find information about what is returned when the TPI is blocked by the envisalink firewall. I've seen my app report an invalid checksum - is this a sign that the request has been blocked? (I'm using a 2DS so I'm not able to check this myself). No, it just resets the TCP socket upon...
