Re: EVL-3 and 2 DSC Keypads
Each keypad and the related zones are in separate partitions in dsc terminology.
I'd suggest printing out the programming worksheets and go through your panel and fill out the paper copies, then how things are setup will probably make more sense when you look at the big picture.

Re: Installation question
You know you can put it in another box closer to the router or switch right ? and just use utp 2pr to make the connection to the keybus - I think the limit is like 1000ft which is more than enough for any house I can think of.

Re: 2DS not working with iphone app please help
Do you have the proper port forwarding setup on your router ? Does your isp block webservers on port 80 on the dynamic ips ? (use 8080 or some other port instead)
Note - its been discussed in the past that this is a bad idea for security reasons though.

Re: New Feature Requests
Why not just please everyone - define all the possible parameters you can have as macros, eg %t would be the time in this state, %z zone number %p partition number %n zone name, etc etc for every piece of known information. Then let the user define for their own system the formatting strings to use ...

Re: Installation question
If you are really paranoid about it just tell them you need to kill power to move the box to run a wire, or you spilled something or have a leak and want to power it off for cleanup. Unless they are super paranoid control freaks they are not going to think twice about it, and really do you want some...

Re: Installation question
Another point here - 99% of the time the monitoring company is not the installer, so when you call up they have no idea who you are, who is going to do the work, etc, all they care is you give them the right password. For all they know the installer could be standing there beside you. I've never bee...

Re: DLS and Linux
Wow - I'd love to hear what experiences made you think Linux is unreliable on the desktop. I can't even tell you how many times I have booted someone's trashed unbootable windows system off a linux boot stick, rescued all their data, and then converted the whole thing to Linux. Not one of them has e...

Client IP and Redundancy
I have a couple redundant upstream links on one of my modules, and it seems to be connecting and reporting everything ok. Can I get some factual information on the scenarios when this would or wouldn't work and what the delays would be ? - does it use a held open tcp stream so once a connection is e...
