Crikey wrote: Our DSC system (same components, I think) started doing that--exactly. I ran through the troubleshooting on it and the result was "I've fallen down and can't get up." (Translated: Some internal issue for which there was no specific diagnostic explanation.) I powered it down, then eventually replaced the whole thing with a Honeywell/Vista panel and keypad.
Crikey, your comments aren't helpful as they don't apply to this user. This person simply has TLM enabled and needs to disable it. There is nothing wrong with the panel.

Also, there is no reason to switch to a lesser system like the Ademco Vista from a DSC Power Series system.

Well I ended up being able to get the installer code! So I got into the system and turned off those options in those sections! :)

Now it gives me a trouble light on #1, which is apparently a low battery, so I need to swap that, but other than that I *should* be good. So I plan to add the ENvisalink soon.

The 5010s also throw an error/trouble light if the time is not properly set. So do that first/too.

The other thing you may wish to consider is buying a new/used LCD keypad (they can be found on e-bay for $15-20). Makes any future work or programming dramatically easier.
