Password Requirements

I did a quick search and did not find any topics related to password character types. No special characters allowed for some reason. Is this firmware controlled or is it a hard coded feature of the 2DS? Is it a too hard to do task or just really low on the priority list, or even possible at all.

I don't think anyone ever asked. Its not in the tracking system at least.

Right now it is limited to letters and numbers.
