I have a limited internet plan of 100mb a month here in Canada... I tried one alarm system but daily traffic (idle) is about 6mb a day !! What can I expect from EVL-4 Board with a DSC system ??

You should expect that the total up/down traffic to be about 20MB/month.

I work for Eyezon and that is how much data is used in a month. ~16MB upload and ~4MB download.

This amount of data is when the system is idle i guess... ?does it depend on the number of sensors used ? How much data the android app generate when the user use it to check system status ? What about SMS.. i read that sms email gateway is not always dependable ? I plan to use mainly sms notifications... thank you

That's it. There's nothing more. Your Android app talks to the reporting servers so it makes no difference on the amount of data traffic. The only extra data is system events (alarms, openings, closings etc), so add 64 bytes per event :-)

We recommend customers use the built-in notifications of the app instead of using SMS but in general we have only seen problems with SMS from the larger Canadian carriers.

I don't want to have 4G data always on on my cell phone to run the app because of battery drain... so I prefer to use SMS but unfortunatelly I live in Canada...(Bell Canada carrier) ... do I may run into problems ?

No, not in the last few years anyhow. It is currently Telus and now and then Rogers who have issues.
