Fire Alarm Event Notification
When testing my EnvisaLink, I noticed when testing the Smoke Detector it triggered the alarm but I didn't get any email or SMS message? Is this typical or do I have something configured wrong. The Security Events for Opening, Closing, and Alarms are reporting to email and SMS fine. I looked in the Security Log under Recent Events and it wasn't showing there either. I thought I would get a notification if the Smoke Detector is triggered? I held the Smoke Detector Test Button long enough to trigger the Alarm, once I let off the Alarm cleared in a few seconds.

Re: Fire Alarm Event Notification
That is a smoke alarm TEST, not an alarm. You would need to trigger it was a smoke pencil to cause a real alarm.
If it doesn't appear in the log, then your panel never generated an event.

Re: Fire Alarm Event Notification
Thanks GrandWizard. So you are saying that I need to actually use smoke to set the alarm for it to generate an event? As I said when I pressed and held the Test button the DSC did trigger the Siren and the Keypad showed Smoke Detector. The EyezOn Status also showed Zone : 9 - Smoke Detector: - CLOSED : 17 Hours Ago, so I wasn't sure how the panel would know the difference between Test and real alarm since Smoke Detector showed closed. I will try smoke to see if I get a real alarm.

Re: Fire Alarm Event Notification (Resolved)
After reviewing the programming manual, I have the Smoke Detector programmed for 07 Delayed 24 Hour Fire. Once I held the Smoke Detector Test button for over 30 seconds the panel triggered the alarm event and I got the notification from EyezOn. All is well.
