Vista20P with Comcast Takeover Bridge

Post by medeanev »

I have a Vista20P with 4 wired zones. It is being monitored by Comast with a 'takeover' bridge. Basically, this bridge is something installed next to the panel that connects to the keypad bus terminals and then outputs to the keypads in the house. When I tried to do the workaround to determine the installer code by simultaneously pushing and holding the * and # keys after repowering the system, a fire alarm was triggered. My thought is that because the keypads are actually connected via the comcast bridge, the commands are being intercepted by comcast. Before I wire a keypad directly to the panel and bypass the comcast takeover bridge, I was wondering if anyone has done something like this with Comcast before.

Many cable companies in North America use these takeover bridges and they do exactly what you describe. You need to remove the comcast equipment and hook the keypads back up to the original panel and "take it back" from comcast.

Once removed you can follow all the normal installation instructions from Eyezon.
