I just finished installing an EVL-4 on my DSC832 system and everything seems to be working ok but I still have a yellow trouble light with the problem being "Communications".
For background: I had a DSC Escort5580 installed which I removed and I re-purposed the RED-BLK-YEL-GRN while from the main panel to the Escort and used that to connect to the EVL-4. Like I said, it seems to be working fine. All the green LED's are lit, I can use the website, the mobile app, etc.
I have also done the following per recommendations on this forum and/or elsewhere:
- Disable the phone line: *8 5555 015 7 ##
- Turn off test transmissions (which are no longer needed): *8 5555 371 9999 ##
- Turn off the phone dialer: *8 5555 380 1 ##
Any thoughts?

Re: EnvisaLink EVL-4EZR on DSC / Trouble
I have the same or a similar problem.
Although all sensors are closed/ cleared, I receive the message “Partition 1 not ready - Trouble” On the app it looks like this: Sensor 2 and 8 had been closed recently.
What can I do?
—-
Perhaps a little background on the entire installation:
- DSC PC1832 plus Wireless Receiver/ Sender (the thingy on the upper left corner) - PK5500
- Some sensors are wired, some are connected wirelessly
- an old wireless COX HomeLife pad still receives signals from all devices, but it doesn’t go anywhere (monitoring by COS disconnected; COX router not connected) = system time does not update
- System can be armed using the PK5500 keypad and the COX HomeLife wireless pad; arming via EyezOn portal does not work/ fails
- I was planning to connect the EVL4 via WiFi with the router; that failed, therefore it is connected via LAN
Hope anyone can help. Thanks and sorry that I don’t have the proper terminology for all the elements.

I would get COX back and tell them to fix whatever they broke on your system.

Re: EnvisaLink EVL-4EZR on DSC / Trouble
That would be too simple. The COX equipment still works; it’s not connected any longer but it still works well. I see all sensors opening/ closing; I can trigger the alarm and turn it off. The EVL4 is causing trouble. It apparently can’t handle the complexity of the system.

Hehe, I don't think that would be the case.
