I have two doors that are wired in series, but I am having to change the run on one of the wires due to renovations. At the panel the two wires (door contacts) are linked together in series, but it would be easier for me to wire them in series in my crawl space with a single wire pair running to the panel. My question is does it matter where I create the series/link between the doors or is it best to do it at the panel?
My gut says it doesn't matter, but I need reassurance from folks who know these things! Especially before I start cutting wires and making regrettable decisions.

Re: Wiring in Series
Just in case anyone ever has a similar issue, my gut proved correct. I was able to wire in series down in the crawl space where I could merge the two wires without running a new line up two levels to my attic and back down to the panel. What a relief! Hopefully that's the final alarm related issue tied to our home repair/reno.
