I have a DSC panel with a working EVL4.
I have 2 partitions
Is it possible to use the "Sequence" ( in commands) to program a zone into a 24hr zone (by sending commands)?
I have 3 zones I wish to change to 24hr zones.
Would appreciate any assistance.
(BTW I did look and search and couldn't find anything similar to this topic-hence the new topic)

Re: EVL4, DSC 24H Zone programming
The custom sequence command is limited to 30 characters so it is possible but only for lower zones in a programming "bank", which is 16 on the newer panels.
If the zones you were interested in were 1,2, and 3, you would send this custom sequence
*8 XXXX 001 11 11 11 ##
Where XXXX is your installers code. 001 is the first bank of zones section. 11 is the zone definition for 24 Hour burg.
I assume you are remote from the location and want to do this? Remember to "pound out" twice to make sure you leave installers programming. Installers mode on DSC panels never time-out so you could end up hanging your system until you get home to power cycle it.

Re: EVL4, DSC 24H Zone programming
Thank you that is very helpful!
The zones are 15 & 16 (partition 2) & 3 (partition 1)
*8 XXXX 001 11 11 11 ## ( 001 should include 3)
I can probably do zone 3 but 15 & 16 would add too many characters
How would I define the zones 1,2,4-15 as non 24hr? (what is the 2 digit code?)
I guess I would have to have a string with the 11 being in position 3
I might have to get to the panel-
So the partition number is irrelevant?
Many thanks for your help.

john

Re: EVL4, DSC 24H Zone programming
No, you won't be able to get to zones 15 and 16.
Zone partition assignments are programmed on sections 202-265. Grab your installers manual for a reference.
DSC has like 50 zones types, you will need to get the installers manual to determine the type of zone you need for your other zones.
