vista 20p bf error

Post by allenlbrown »

Sorry if this is repetitive but can't find a solution in the forum. Installed Envisalink 4 on a Vista 20P, went through all the programming steps, works fine, except..getting a "bf" error on the keypad. Tried setting *29 to 0 but that disabled all alerts. Any fixes? Thanks!

It sounds like you enabled LRR/IP/GSM shadowing when you don't have an ECP connected cellular backup unit installed. The cell backups that just connect to the telephone line don't count as a backup as they are a hack and aren't recognized by the panel.

If this is your case, turn LRR/IP/GSM shadowing off.

If not, submit a tech support request from your Eyezon portal and we'd be happy to help troubleshoot your issue.

Checked to make sure shadowing was turned off and still received error:

/ Security Event: LRR IP GSM Fault / Security Event: LRR IP GSM Fault
Location: XXXX
Time: 2021-06-03 09:56:14 AM
Partition: 0

I'll try the service portal as suggested. Thanks!

Also forgot to mention remote monitoring has been discontinued. Can the GSM unit be disconnected?

Ok, if the GSM unit is still installed you must turn Shadowing ON.

If you remove the GSM unit, don't forget to turn Shadowing back off or you will get the error again.

You can only have one communicator on a Vista panel. If you already have a GSM communicator, you need to enable Shadow Mode to also use the Envisalink IP communicator.
