Troubleshooting connection issues with Envisalink 4

Post by ubun2Junky »

I have an envisalink 4 connected in our summer home. As of recent we have started to get an "off-line" message on the app. We had a friend go over and take a look at the envisalink link device and they sent me a picture. Only the Oper and Keyb lights are on. Net, Online and Link are not. We tried the following.
- Plugged the ethernet to a new port on the switch, known to work. (made no difference)
- Powered the entire DSC alarm panel down. Disconnected battery and removed the transformer. Waiting about 5 mins before plugging everything back in. (made no difference)

Is there anything else we can try? Is the Envisalink 4 dead? The summer home is located in central america and we're in the US, so unfortunately troubleshooting remotely is difficult. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thx.

Hi, no LINK LED means no Ethernet connection. In all cases it means one of:

1) Bad Ethernet Cable (most common)
2) Blown port on router/switch (fairly common)
3) Blown port on the Envisalink (not common but we do see this with lightning strikes)
