EVL4 & DSC 1832 Programming via IP?

Post by cjhrph »

Is it possible to use the EVL4 to program the DSC 1832 using the DLS 5 software over IP instead of using the phone line?

I don't think EVL4 is designed to program your DSC system. Alternatively, you can use PC-Link with DLS5 to program while using EVL4 to verify if it functions correctly. If you have some wires laying around and a USB->Serial adapter, you can make your own cable for PC-Link on the DSC1832/1864.

There are two versions of the Envisalink. The one we "end-users" buy does not do DLS. Here's a 2018 post from GrandWizard. http://forum.eyez-on.com/FORUM/viewtopi ... 2283#p8177

Unfortunately DSC locking things down appears to be the problem rather than technology. I don't know if Honeywell is less restrictive, but I will certainly avoid buying/recommending DSC panels.
