Hi
I've been very happy with PC1832 Panel with EVL4 providing Home Assistant access.
Unfortunately however the DSC module to provide cellular back is GSM and is end of life and my alarm installer is telling me that he needs to remove the EVL4 in order to install DSC System Enhancement Module (SEM) to have cellular backup once again.
(I think he was getting my EVL4 confused with an IT-100 so his advice may be off in this regard)
Are the DSC SEM and EVL4 actually incompatible?
If I lose my EVL4, is there another way to maintain Home Assistant access?
I'd prefer to stick with my EVL4 if possible.
Thanks

Re: EVL4 compatibility with DSC System Enhancement Module
The Envisalink Sidekick provides full LTE support and LTE-M1 is guaranateed for 25 years, so no need to fret.
I think your guy is just misinformed. All he needs to do is remove the existing DSC cell communicator and install the Sidekick and you are LTE ready.
PM me for more info but its very easy to switch.
But to answer your actual question, no they are not incompatible. The Alarm.com module (SEM) and the Envisalink can both be installed on the same panel.
