Firmware changelog - What's new in EVL-4 01.05.203?

Post by rct »

Where can I find info on what's changed in Envisalink firmware updates? The forum's topic on this hasn't been touched since 2020.

it seems like EyezOn has been somewhat active pushing out firmware updates to my EVL-4 over the last two months or so. (Most of the time when I get an unexpected TPI Login notification, I notice that the firmware on my Envisalink has been updated.)

Today (2023-01-27) i believe I was pushed 01.05.203. Since then there has been a problem with the software I'm using with the Envisalink. I'm trying to figure it out, but it would be really helpful to have a clue as to what changed.

I think this might be the first 01.05.x firmware I've seen. (I seem to have missed the .202 firmware update, so I don't know if that was 01.04.202 or 01.05.202.)

Yes, I now see the info for 01.05.203 got edited into the first message in that thread.

Unfortunately the way you are posting updates by editing that message makes it very difficult to see. From the topic view that thread was last updated Tue Mar 10, 2020 3:24 pm.

However, prior to 01.05.203 the last firmware update posted for the EVL-4 was 01.04.186. I don't know when that was, but I know I received a number of 01.04 updates in between such as 01.04.200 on 2022-12-24 and then 01.04.201 on 2022-12-28.

My system had a problem with 01.05.203. My EVL4 (DSC) kept spewing 67302, 67303, 67304 (Partition 2,3,4 not ready), 30ish messages per second continually. This broke my software (AlarmServer) because it waits 1 second for the EVL to finish sending updates before sending commands to the EVL.

I have to say I was extremely happy that EyezOn support rolled my EVL4 firmware back to 01.04.202 this morning (Saturday 2023-01-28) after I sent over the details of the problem Friday evening. I pessimistically thought I wouldn't hear back until sometime on Monday. So thank you EyezOn support for being on the job over the weekend.
