Need EnvisaLink 2DS to get new internal IP address

Post by botnik »

I have a 2DS connected to a DSC panel that I have been using for years. Recently I replaced the router and the new router gave out addresses in 10.0.0.x via DHCP. I cannot get the 2DS back onto the network. I have removed the ethernet connector from the 2DS for a minute and put it back in, and that didn't work. I have removed the ethernet connector, disconnected the red wire from the 4-pin terminal block, waited a minute, reconnected the red wire, reconnected the ethernet, and that didn't work. I have used the mobile app to try to reboot the 2DS, and that didn't work. When I ping the 2DS from a computer on the new 10.0.0.x, all packets are lost.

The mobile app tells me that the 2DS still has the old address of 192.168.32.48, and I don't remember but it may have been static, and a WAN IP of 108.172.x.x. When I try to ping the WAN IP, all packets are lost.

I have been trying to get the 2DS to request a new IP address via DHCP. It has been many years since I set this up. The new router is a Nighthawk RAXE300. What is the easiest way to get the 2DS back onto the network so I can control it with the mobile app? I have looked at the quick start instructions here

https://www.eyez-on.com/EZMAIN/Images/e ... kStart.pdf

but when I put "envisalink" into the browser it brings up search-engine results, and the browser (or ping) can't reach the old 2DS address.

When I first set up this 2DS there was some sort of networking problem, and if I remember correctly, there was too much traffic overwhelming the 2DS or something like that. I needed a second router with nothing but the 2DS behind it, and that solved the problem, but later firmware versions allowed me to get rid of the second router. The 2DS has been just a regular device on the network since. The current version of the firmware on the 2DS is 205 according to the mobile app (that cannot currently access the 2DS).

You have set your module to Static IP and you need to do a factory reset.

See the instructions under Support in your Eyezon portal.

Thanks! I was not able to find information on factory reset in the support section of the Eyez-On Portal, but found it with Google:

https://forum.eyezon.com/viewtopic.php?t=365

After performing the factory reset procedure I didn't have to reset any settings on the 2DS. Everything seems to have come back online with the same settings except for the local IP address (and it should be getting the IP address through DHCP now).

Just noticed there's a new portal:

https://portal.eyezon.com/app/login.php

I was using the old one:
