This video of the Envisalink 3 is on Youtube. Not that any new features are explained.

Cheers!

The first production E3's rolled off the assembly line last week so they may ship as early as this week. The official release will be delayed until the end of the Ademco BETA test which is currently ongoing. The E3s that ship in the interim will be DSC only.

If you're a DSC user then don't look for much change over a '2DS. If you're an Ademco/Honeywell user, well, you'll now know what you've been missing :-)

Thanks for the reply and information. I purchased a DSC 1832 kit with an RFK5500 to replace a failed Eagle 6000 system so a bit of programming learning curve but have been researching a lot. Really looking forward to getting it all up and running and monitor and control it from my IPhone.

GrandWiz,

Thanks for the confirmation... As a DSC user, I'm seeing frequently the following two requests;

1) Enable DLS over the Envisalink so that we don't need to keep the TL-xxx connected to they system for DLS maintenance.

2) Allow the Envisalink to receive global label broadcasts from the keybus.

I was under the impression that both of these were "roadmapped" to a lesser or greater extent for "future" hardware releases.

Is there any way you could find out an official position of some kind from envisacor ?

It would be great to keep a step up for all the DSC customers who have been loyal and come along this far.

Thanks !

Grand Wizard,

In a previous post you stated the 3DS was only a firmware update, is this the case or is the hardware being upgrade to allow additional future capabilities?

No, the E3 is a new hardware platform. It has more flash, an expansion port for add-on modules, and supports other panels.

Can you point me to where I said this was a firmware update? Maybe I'd been at the pub.
