EVL5?

Post by Ian_81 »

I am debating about updating from the EVL3, mainly to get off the 10mbps NIC. However, its been almost a year since the last firmware update to the EVL4, does that mean that an EVL5 is about to launch soon? Or any plans for an EVL5? (not quite sure what eyezon could do with an EVL5 that the EVL4 couldnt do with a firmware update?)

No, the manufacturer came out with the Envisalink4 MAX about two years ago instead of calling it the EVL5. Its a hardware reboot of the EVL4 but has pretty much the same feature set so I guess they didn't want to get anyone too excited.

Eyezon has decided not to retail the 4MAX as something different from the EVL4 so on our store, and Amazon store, it is just once SKU. If you buy a EVL4 EZ from us you will get a MAX board.

Oh interesting, thanks for the update. What changed on the MAX hardware from the original v4 and the v3?

I think the whole thing between the 3 and MAX. If you look at the board, nothing is the same. The MAX and the EVL4 have the same ethernet chip, but that seems to be it.
