Anyone using a DSC PC5108 Expander with the Uno?

Post by howard Mearns »

I have 5 DSC PC5108 expanders from an existing system that worked very recently. I simply removed the old control board and plugged the new UNO board in its place. Only one expander registers per the local web browser access portal.

The expanders have 6 jumpers. The expander instructions say to use the first three to register them. The second three are for the previous generation of boards where sets of 4 zones could be registered individually. I'm not sure if that needs done here or not.

The only reference I can find for the UNO is for the eyezon expander which has 4 jumpers. The first half of those don't use the 4th jumper though, so my thought is that it shouldn't matter?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Howard

The DSC PC5108 have 5 jumpers. J1, J2, and J3 are for selecting which bank of 8 zones the expander is responsible for. Bank 0 is reserved on DSC panels for the 8 zones on the panel but on UNO we do allow this.

The UNO5108 expanders have no jumpers so I'm not sure where you are looking. Programming is done through the zone inputs.

Thank you for the response.
My apologies, I see now that the table I was looking at is for your zone jumper scheme. I didn't read it in detail because I don't have them, I just thought maybe there was a different numbering scheme and that it was possible that you folks used all of the jumpers on the PC5108 to address it , I saw that it was for addressing the expander, saw you used 4 digits and didn't look further.

My PC5108 Rev4 boards have 6 jumpers. The instructions I have state that prior to a version of the control board, you can address 4 zones at a time, so there is a second set of jumpers for the second set of 4 zones. After such and such a version, only J1, J2, and J3 are to be used to address the zones and the remaining three are to be left open. This is what I have done.

So to be clear, the bank codes in the jumpers are the same as the instructions that came with the PC5108:

J1 J2 J3
on on on zone 1-8
off on on zone 9-16
on off on zone 17-24
off off on zone 25-32
on on off zone 33-40
off on off zone 41-48
on off off zone 49-56
off off off zone 57-64
