Has anyone used the UNO IP Hybrid alarm system? looking to upgrade my dated system

Post by AndyGoldner »

My house currently has a DSC PC5010 panel and 2x PC5508Z keypads.
I'm mainly looking to add app control/alerts and i found the UNO board as a drop-in replacement.
Any thoughts on the uno or other alternatives greatly appreciated!

I recently replaced my Interlogic Concord 4 with Uno and have been fairly happy with the results so far.

Was fairly easy and relatively inexpensive DIY. I bought the Uno IP Hybrid panel and the Uno 5108 zone expander. I also needed to get a seperate cabinet because the mounting holes in the Concord cabinet didn't line up. I used all my existing wired contacts . My keypads weren't compatible so i repurposed a couple all Samsung Galaxy 8' tablets i wasn't using and mounted them to the wall where my old keypads were. For me the touchpads are a little glitchy . Not sure if it's because the tablets i'm using compared to what Eyezon offers, but i have issues occasionally still ( it was worse before they released the new 1.3.2 version of the app)

All in all I'm pretty happy but i've only been live with it for a month or two. There are things i love and things i don't like or wish were different, but i'd do it again based on what i've experienced so far. They have been pretty responsive to my inquires and it's pretty intutative once you get used to it.

i was self monitoring with my old system and am still doing that with the Uno. with the app on my phone i get push notifications when ever the system is armed or unarmed so that in and of itself has been a major selling point. I also like that i can reconfigure and add wired or wireless zones if my needs change without having to pay a tech . One of the main reasons i switched was i wanted to make a very minor change to my old system and the local alarm company wouldn't even talk to me unless I committed to a monitoring contract ... no thanks

I am a decent DIYer with no previous alarm experience other than arming and disarming my old systems, and i think i was able to handle this easily. I am still trying to figure out a couple things, but for the most part its a pretty user friendly system. Hope this helps

If you have a working DSC system just buy the Envisalink 4 and add it on. There is no point in replacing your system.
