Hello,
I have a DSC Powerseries 1864 with a EnvisaLink4 and has been working great for years. I want to add LTE backup and central monitoring. Which LTE option is better for this setup?
DUO or Sidekick
They both seem to be similar in LTE support, but didn't know if one or the other was recommended for new setups? Is either going end of support soon or one have more features than the other?
Thanks.
Which LTE option is best?

The DUO is basically an Envisalink4MAX with a Sidekick all on the same board. Neither provide any additional features over the other.triden wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 1:14 pm Hello,

If you already have an EVL4, then just get the Sidekick. That would be your cheapest option.

Thanks, I'll purchase the Sidekick. I assume the EVL4 (non MAX) is still supported and will be for a few more years?GrandWizard wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 1:20 pm

I'm just trying to minimize the amount of hardware I need to replace.
Appreciate the info.

The only Envisalink we ever had to EOL was the IP100D built between 2006-2008 as its firmware was not field updatable. Everything made ever since is still in the field and still supported.
