Follower overload problem - suggestion

To solve your recent follower overload problem - Why can't my 2DS send emails directly to me via SMTP?

My D-Link routers do this (to send their logs) and it works well, with no delay. My router configuration holds the SMTP server address, port number and PW that I set (for any ISP that I choose). I also set a "to" and "from" email address in the router.

Seems like bypassing your servers and gateways would solve the overload problem.
