Re: New Feature Requests
Works Great!!! Thanks again for the fast implementation.
Re: New Feature Requests
Under Enviromental sensor, would it be possible to add function to change FAN from On to Auto?

Re: New Feature Requests
Great service and device so I'm getting picky here,
Would like to see an option for selecting which alarm users I get email notifications for. I want to get all the notifications I've selected but I don't want to see when my girl friend comes and goes, I want to see when my daughter does. Make sure she's home from school when supposed to be, she's armed in, etc. Is this a possibility?
Thanks,
Justin

Re: New Feature Requests
Hi!
Thanks for a great product!
It really helps me get more out of my DSC 1864.
I have two questions for you:
1) When will Eyez-on support several partitions? Including the mobile version.
2) When will Envisalink support both "Arm Away" and "Arm Stay"?
(Envisalink supports partitions)
Thanks,
Bob

Re: New Feature Requests
Thank-you and I'm glad you are happy with it.
To answer your questions.
1. Yes. This is on our list and should be done in the next round of changes.
2. No immediate plans. We keep the local page very light to keep costs down.

Great news!

Stay / Away arming is really quite fundamental. I would really, really appreciate that in a coming firmware release!
(I am also quite confident that the Eyez-on service will be used anyway due to much richer functionality.)
Thx,
Bob

Re: New Feature Requests
I'm one of the newest users. I received my 2DS today, had it installed within minutes, and I've been pretty impressed so far. But I'd be remiss if I didn't have a few requests/suggestions.
1) I have the Escort 5580 with the Home Automation functionality, that allows control of selected X-10 devices (*5-1 from the panel). Is the 2DS ever likely to allow some control of this stuff?
Admittedly, I may be the only person actually using this stuff, and even then not very often, so I'd certainly understand the "not enough demand" argument. Maybe others here will pipe up on this one.
2) Is it feasible to have a feature that can grab the correct time from the Net and update the local system so that the close is always accurate? My old 5015 has the old daylight savings time algorithm, and while resetting my clock today, it occurred to me that it'd be nice if it could auto-sync to a reliable time source.
3) The status display is a teensy bit confusing. For example, right now my Zone 8 (front door contact) is highlighted in a dark red, and has a status if "CLOSED 22 minutes ago". If the door is closed, why is that zone still red? What does dark red mean as opposed to light red? I get the impression that the color is related to the "age" of the last status, but I'd go with something a bit clearer (ie. red/dark red for OPEN, green/dark green for CLOSED).
4) Is it possible to get a longer log of "Zone Activity"? Seems to only show the last six items.
FYI, the "mobile" site works fine on Windows Phone 7 (not exactly a surprise, since it's IE9). I understand you have apps for the "other three" platforms. If you decide you want to try for a WP7 app, ping me. I'm set up to develop WP7 software, so perhaps I can help port what you have.
Brad.
P.S. I'm introducing my alarm system dude to this. He was unfamiliar with it before, and has enough geeky customers like me that maybe I'll get him reselling these. I've been waiting a *long* time to punt my numeric pager I've been using for status reports (from the Escort), so I'm a happy camper.

Re: New Feature Requests
Tsk, it just occurred to me that "CLOSED" in reference to a Zone means contact closed, as in door opened in my example, and that "OPENED" isn't actually logged. I can see how my color references above aren't actually feasible in the design.
So that just leaves one question: what's the criteria for a zone highlight going from light red to dark red? Is it some particular number of minutes?
Brad.

RE: BPSMicro
First off, Welcome to the forum and I'm glad you're enjoying your Envisalink. I'll reference your questions by number.
1) We're going to open a "virtual keypad" entry on the portal soon so you can do what you're asking shortly. We have had so many feature requests that we're going to allow people to simply enter a string of keys as if they were at their keypad in their home. (I want this too, I have X-10 lights in my house as well).
2) This has been a big "water-cooler" issue around here for years. What time do we take as "the" time. We have opted for UTC time but obviously, and most likely, people's system times are not up to date with standard time (UTC). The short answer is yes, the Envisalink 2 already has the capability of changing the system time to UTC but we haven't implemented it on the portal. The main issue is that a lot of our customers don't set their timezone in their accounts so if we automated this procedure, those people would get the wrong time. It's an easy option to add, we'll put it on the list of Portal changes but it will have to be an opt-in type of thing
3) I saw your second posting. You got it, in the security industry OPEN means that a zone (door, window, PIR, whatever) is NOT secure, and CLOSED means that it is secure. So we report when a zone is OPEN, and we provide the unique benefit of not only seeing that the zone is CLOSED, but when it did close. This is of obvious benefit to all who what to see the overall activity in the premise they are monitoring. The colour of the zone gives a quick visual indication of how long the zone has been closed. Bright red means OPEN, medium bright red means closed for some period of time (hover your mouse over the zone for the exact number) and black means CLOSED.
4) By zone activity I think you mean the event log. Your home page only shows the last 6 events but you can view all events by scrolling to the bottom of the event window and selecting "Full Log". You will see all the events on your system since you signed up.
With respect to Apps: We know there is a constant clamour for native apps (iPhone, Android, BB) but pretty much everyone we talk to personally seems happy with the mobile portal once we tell them that it exists. We may be guilty of bad communication with respect to this very important feature. That being said, we are actively working on an iPhone app and an Android widget for Envisalerts.
Lastly, tell your friends! We have a very cool device that has more features than any other security product on the market and adding more features weekly. Most importantly, these features flow directly from the requests of our users, our customers.
Enjoy
M

Re: New Feature Requests
Thanks for the response.
The thing about mobile apps is that unless that's something you (as a software developer) are keen on doing, it's easy to get yourself in a situation where you fragment your efforts, and end up doing a lot of things relatively poorly. So sticking with just doing a few things (like the mobile page) well may be a better approach.
I can see your point on the time thing. Because my panel's firmware is on the old daylight savings algorithm, it actually "fell back" a week'ish ago. Yesterday, when resetting the clock after powering down for the install, I set it to "current" time. The system display reads 08:30, the local web page reads 08:30, but the main site page reads 07:30. I understand why that is, and it'll all sync up this weekend, but it shows the hazards of clock-setting from the "outside".
Brad.
