EnvisaLink 3 Text messages

Post by sebbyg »

Just installed - went pretty smoothly.
Still have a few questions with programming but overall very pleased so far.

Ok - SMS Text alerts:
Every time I get an alert it comes from a different sequential Phone Number:
(410) 000-001, (410) 000-002, (410) 000-003, etc...
Is there a way to change this so the EnvisaLink always texts from the same #
That way I can create an Envisalink contact on my phone and set up special alerts and keep all of my alerts together?

The SMS alert just sends an email to your phone's email address. It is your cell carrier that is incrementing that number. The number the phone company assigns allows you to reply to the sender of the email.

This behavior is how the target cell provider's Email-to-SMS gateway is setup.

I use Sprint, so text messages sent to me always come from noreply@eyez-on.com and that is left intact. Makes it nice since I can make this a contact, add a special image (Red Alarm Bell), etc.

Another phone I have is with AT&T, and text messages from eyez-on.com always come through with a sequence number like 1410000005 and the eyez-on.com string is stripped off. No way to match this to a consistent contact entry. :(
