I am trying to understand how to send key sequences through the virtual keypad on the web portal but can find no documentation. For instance
1. what characters are acceptable?
2. what is the sequence length limitation?
3. how do I send a ">" key stroke to advance the cursor?
Ultimately I am trying to program the zone labels on my LCD keypads from the web portal.
Thanks!

Re: virtual keypad sequence documentation
Having not received a response to my questions yet I am wondering if folks think I haven't made a decent effort to find the answer on my own. Here is what I have done so far: I tried again searching the forms using keywords like "web portal" "key sequence" "web portal commands" etc and read through all the posts that might be relevant but did not have much luck. So the simplest experiment I could think of to see if I could program the keypad labels using the web portal command was to change the first letter in the first zone label to the letter "A". I basically followed the instructions for programming the zone labels that came with my PK5500. Here are my exact steps:
0.) Logged into the web portal and clicked the "Commands" button
1.) Entered the following in the command sequence input box where xxxx=installer's code:
*8xxxx*0011**
2.) Hit the Send button
3.) Hit the Send Reset (#) button
4.) Hit the Send Reset (#) button
This was the exact key sequence I tested out manually on the keypad to change the first letter of the zone label to A and get out of installers mode. Note: Before trying the sequence using the web portal command I did manually change the first letter in the zone label to something other than "A" so I would know if I was successful.
Results: I was unable to get the first letter to change using the web portal command.
Any ideas?

Re: virtual keypad sequence documentation
We don't emulate the cursor keys as they are not a hard requirement. They only exist on the PK5500 and family as a convenience.
Your example is not actually programming the panel, it is programming the keypad you are on, so that is why it doesn't work. Hitting "*" while in installers mode goes into local keypad programming.
There is no way to access individual keypads' programming from the Envisalink. You have to do this directly from the keypad.

Re: virtual keypad sequence documentation
Thank you for your reply. The strange behavior I was experiencing after trying to program the keypad from the web portal was the result of my keypad sequence reprogramming some of my zones having never left installers mode. I had to put them all back. Now I know.
