I had a recent need to shut down my network for over an hour. On another day I shut the alarm system down for about 45 minutes.
Even though I am signed up for Line/Cut Supervision events I did not get any notification.
People keep saying "Get GSM because that way your phone/internet line can't be cut." I thought/think that is overkill because I thought that I'd get an SMS telling me that my alarm system is down. Apparently not, or apparently it takes well over an hour for these event notifications to be sent. I know internet connections go down all the time, but I'd still like to know.
How long does it take for these notifications, and under what circumstances will I get them?

Network supervisory messages are sent when there is no network traffic from your module within a period of 10 minutes and are sent immediately.
If you like you can email support with your MAC and the time of the network outage and we can show you your event transmit logs.

Is there a way to shorten this 10 min period? Before I found EnvisaLink, I was looking at a Honeywell IP communicator (7847i) and it pings the server every 20 seconds. I don't know what happens on the server side, but I would assume after not receiving a few of these pings, it would issue a network down message to the owner. It would be great if this was configurable. Any way to do that?

This is a server change so I can see that it is high on the priority list. It's not difficult.

Thanks for looking into that change! Yes, I will definitely not set it to something like 20 seconds, as that is overkill. My U-verse modem comes with an admin screen that tells me how often it is down and for how long. I (or anyone) would probably want to set this Eyez-On notification setting based on how reliable their broadband setup is. I'll keep my eyes open on this new setting to show up on the portal one day (hopefully soon!). Thanks!

Even though this 10 minute wait cannot currently be modified by the user, is this something support can do for us?
