purchase questions

Post by nikkor »

I'm considering purchasing an IP100D, but have a few questions before I purchase.

- My IP100D would be behind a firewall. I've had problems in the past with devices not working unless I open ports, but didn't see any info on what ports have to be open for the device. What ports would I need to open to make the device work behind a firewall?

- The main reason for purchasing this would be to integrate my security system with my home automation system (Micasa Verde Vera2). What type of local API is accessible on the device that I could use to call from my home automation system? Where could I find documentation on the API?

The IP100D uses outbound port 4021 to communicate with the Eyez-on portal, you do not need to open any inbound ports unless you want to access the local webserver on the IP100D. In that case you would need to open either 80 or 8080 and change your firewall rules to point to the IP100D.

The IP100D has a local webserver that allows you to arm, disarm, and control PGMs. You can also get the status of all zones and all partitions too. Quite a few people have simply "scraped" this webpage to communicate with other devices (i.e. your home automation system).

Eyez-on will be releasing a webservices API shortly that will give developers access to their Eyez-on accounts from a low-level. I have been told that this is only a couple of weeks away.
