Questions about install in a DSC 1616

Hi,

I just ordered my EVL-3 and I've looked and the install video on youtube and it looks very straightforward. I did have some questions that I was not sure about. Is it required to completely shutdown the entire alarm system to install the EVL? I don't know of he proper procedure to shutdown the system, is it a matter of disconnecting the battery and pulling the plug? Is there anything I need to do on the panel prior to shutting down? thanks

You should always shutoff power to a panel before you add any new hardware. And you were correct, unplug battery then unplug transformer install EVL3 then plug battery back in then plug in transformer.

Hi,

So I just installed everything and it went without a hitch. One thing I cannot figure out is how do I arm the alarm in stay mode ? When I arm it with the code it goes into away mode.

I have a honeywell system, when I click arm it asks me if I want to ARM stay, away, or instant then I put in my code.
