reinstall and starting over

Post by cman »

Is is possible to disconnect the unit, delete account, and start all over? For some reason I cannot access my alarm through the website or iphone. It shows "busy". If I delete my account and start fresh again it might work.

Why don't you tell us what type of system you have, the status of your lights on the EVL3 and we will try to work you through setting it up. There is no need to "start over"

On an Ademco system, if you have a solid KEYB LED, and you find that your parition state never changes from BUSY, you have an issue with keypad programming for your Envisalink. Either you didn't enable a keypad slot for the Envisalink, or you have the wrong keypad address programmed into the Envisalink, or maybe you have the Envisalink assigned to a keypad address that already exists.

I agree it is the keypad address is the problem. I cannot get the device to ask for a different address. THat is my problem at this time. I reinstall the device but it will not ask for a new address. I cannot access the Envisalink through my router either. How can I get the address changed?

I have gone through both part 1 and Part 2 of the programming steps many times.
You never accessed the EVL local web browser? Thats how you set the keypad address for the EVL3, you said on the other topic you followed the directions that were provided to set this up with a Vista15p. This is all covered in the directions.

What happened was my device was somewhat working and then it quit working. What was discovered was I had changed my keypad address from 17 to 20 while programming. Then I had remembered that I had already set the device to 17 when I first installed it. I deactivated address 20 and changed it back to 17 but the device will no longer connect. I need to reset it to a new address and I cannot connect to through the browser. I have a Mac with a Time machine and It will not connect to the router like I'm use to doing with a normal PC and Router. I did send a report tonight to ask for help and I now have a ticket. So we will see what happens,

Got it working again! I got an address through the Mac forum on how to manually setup the network. Once I keyed the Mac address of the device it assigned a IP address. Then I was able to get it working again.
