Enabling text messages

Post by ehennen »

I have the Envisalink 3 card installed in a Vista 20 system. It seems to work fine. I can control the system from both the local network and the Eyez-on site. I am also getting email notices when an alarm occurs, but it is a bit slow--maybe 10 minutes. I want to enable the text messaging, and when I set it up, it sends the text and I respond with the pin, and that works, but still no text message. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Steve, I wish it was that easy. I have done all the steps that you outline, about 5 times. I get the email alerts, no problem. I get the test text, supply pin number, and I get confirmation. I have done the same enable, assign items, but no text.

When you are on step 2 you need to pick the tab that corresponds with your text messaging.

For those of you following this thread, I finally can get texts. The problem did not lie with Eyez-on or with their web site, or with my system. It was the inability of my cell phone carrier to interpret the texts that eyez-on was sending. Eyez-on said to have the cell phone service turn on "email detect". Well, it took three phone calls to service, but they finally figured it out, and as of this morning, I am getting text alerts. Yay!
