PC1616/RFK5501 - KEYB LED not lit

Hello,

I am trying to install the envisalink3 on a PC1616 control panel with one RFK5501 keypad. All of the LEDs display correctly except for the KEYB. It comes on for about a second when I connect power to the panel then it goes off and stays off. Everything I've read indicates that this means the connection to the keybus (yellow and green wires) is incorrect.

I have disconnected and reconnected all 4 of the wires (not just green and yellow) several times and even re-stripped them once, but no dice. I think the odds of having a bad module are very slim but I don't know what else to try at this point. Any advice would be much appreciated!

For what it's worth, the envisalink gets an IP address and I can see it connected to my local network via my router admin page.

You can try using completely different wire first, could be a break somewhere, slim chance but not impossible

You can check your connections at the Envisalink with a multi-meter. For both the green and yellow wires you should measure something like 7Vdc on each with respect to the black (common) wire. This is for DSC only BTW.

The other possibility is that you registered your module as an Ademco unit and you have the wrong firmware. On the local "home" page of the Envisalink it says what type of panel it "thinks" it is connected to. If it says Honeywell, you have the wrong firmware.

I tried a new wire, with the same results.

The local home page says "Security Subsystem - DSC" so I should be on the correct firmware.

I do not have a multimeter but I'll try to borrow or purchase one tomorrow and measure the voltage. Thanks for the suggestions...I'll keep you posted.

The multimeter measured the following:

~6.97V on yellow
~9.10V on green

Yellow matches what you said (~7) but green is a couple V higher. Does that indicate a problem or is it still within the expected operating range?
