Powering down DSC 1832

Post by arlow9 »

Hi All.

I just purchased the EnvisaLink 3 and am excited to try it out when it arrives.
I've had a look through the installation manual. It basically says to power down my DSC 1832 before doing the install.

A few quick questions:
1. How should I power it off. Do I simply unplug the power adapter and disconnect the battery?
2. Also, after I've connected the EnvisaLink 3, I've read somewhere that I may have to reset my DSC Box. Is this true?

Thanks in advance.

Yes that is correct.

Not likely, but post back if you encounter any problems. It is really simple to install on DSC systems. I had it installed and running in minutes. The longest part was waiting the 10 minutes after activating the device MAC address.

I just had a PC1832 panel installed as well. The installer advised me to remove one of the two AC power wires and unplug the battery when I powered down the panel. He specifically advised me to attach the battery *first* when powering the panel back up, which I did. I did have a trouble code upon powering the panel up, but only had to re-enter the time or date (can't remember which) to correct the problem.
