Fire Zone Issues

Post by dh4ck3r »

Envisalink 3 with DSC 1832

Recently switched from POTS monitoring to Eyezon Monitored system and experienced a smoke related issue over the weekend. When previously monitored by POTS my system would alert on burnt toast and I would have to contact monitoring station to cancel. This weekend Mrs left something on stove that caused house to FILL with smoke and system did not alarm and when I contacted Eyezon monitoring they also had received no alert.

Is there a command to list all currently programmed zones, including fire? Can I access a zone list via the TPI? How can I test smoke/fire alarm?

Thanks

If your panel didn't go into alarm then how would the monitoring company know about your fire issue.

This is a programming issue on your panel, not with the Envisalink.

My panel is DSC 1832, with 2-wire smoke detector.

Does EnvisAlarms monitor the 2-wire smoke detector?
How to check the 2-wire smoke detector status on EnvisAlerts?

2-wire smokes do not use a Zone slot so they don't appear on the zone map. If they trip they will just issue a 24 hour Fire alarm without zone information.

Thanks.

It is a piece of information needed to talk to insurance company. In my situation (2-wire smoke detector), when I order EnvisAlarms service, I can talk to insurance company that the fire alarm is included in my central monitoring service, right?

The fact that you have a smoke detector tied-in with your Alarm System, the Insurance Certificate you get from the Monitoring Company (Envisalarm) will show Both Burglary AND Fire Alarm. This will let you Insurance Company calculate your eventual insurance discount for both.
