I might be misunderstanding something, but I am under the assumption that there is a BB application to remotely monitor my 170D? Please let me know the link to download this if I am correct in my assumption that the app exists.

There is no BB app and we have no plans of working on one but we have a mobile version of the portal that is formatted for smartphones. I just keep a link to it on my Android desktop. You can generate a link to your personal mobile site from your account. Go to Account Settings, and there you will see a link called "Generate Mobile Browser Login Quick Link"
We do have plans for our own iPhone and Android apps, but right now there is just the third-party one called "DSC Alarm Monitor".
