Bypass closed zone while system is armed

Post by Enzo »

I have a DSC 1832 And would like to bypass a zone that is closed while the system is armed. It seems that this is possible accoring to a discussing thread.....here is the link:

Problem is that when I try it while my system is armed in stay mode the command causes the system to arm in Away mode. Can a zone be bypassed while the system is armed in stay mode?

thanks

No you can only bypass a zone while the system is disarmed. It is a security feature of your DSC panel. To bypass while armed, you have to disarm the system with the user code, bypass the zone, arm it again, then wait the exit delay for it to be fully armed. Pressing *1 on the keypad while armed will just remove the current bypass and active those previously bypassed zones.

There is a quick exit feature that you can use if it is enabled in the installer programming on your panel. It will allow you to open only one entry delay type zone for 2 minutes while the system is armed. Depending on what you are wanting to do this may work for you.

That's what I thought, but in the link I provided in my original post, it seamed like the person was able to bypass a zone while the system was armed. Thanks for the response.

I went and read the thread. RRMF13 stated, "I used the feature with my shed. It's always armed regardless of the panel...". That leads me to believe he is talking about a 24hr burglary zone. It is always armed, which is why it is regardless of the panel. With the system disarmed, you can bypass the 24hr burglary so it will not create and alarm when it is violated. Hope that makes more sense.
