One Account, Two Locations, Can I have a different TimeZone?

Post by ejosterberg »

So I have an account configured.
Account owner has two homes. One in Central Timezone, the other home is located in Arizona.

I only seem to be able to configure one timezone.

I flew to Arizona to install the system and he reports the day after I left, the clock on the keypads have changed to the central timezone. :o

Can we add this as a feature request on the connect2go portal or is there a solution?
Maybe we need a time offset on the device in the panel? How then would we handle the daylight savings in the central timezone but not for Arizona?

I did read the FAQ and it's wasn't any help to me.
I've also read these...

Unfortunately the timezone is for the account, not the device. So no, you can't select a timezone for each device.

For the Arizona module just turn off automatic time updates and the Envisalink won't try and change the panel time.

I can understand the desire to view events from a central location in a single timezone but yet, it doesn't make a lot of sense to view the central timezone on the keypads in Arizona. For a vacation property, the automatic time update is a very nice feature. Because the functionality is there to support multiple locations, can you take this as a feature request to support timezones at each location?

The Google maps API provides an easy way to set the timezone for each location.
