Feature request: enable/disable door chime

Post by Jason »

Can you provide a way to easily toggle the door chime? It would also be useful to view whether it is currently enabled/disabled.

Manual toggle (on/off) for Ademco would be getting to the keypad and punching <UserCode>+9(chime)

Yes, but I have a DSC. Also, codes are fine but how do you determine if the chime is on or off?

You can't determine if chime is on or off on DSC panels. The panel doesn't inform the Envisalink as to the state like it does on Honeywell.

When you toggle the chime on the keypad it makes a long beep or a triple beep to indicate the new state. Would it be possible for the Envisalink to read that signal to determine state? At least that way, it could toggle, read state, and toggle back in order to determine the state to display to the user.

You'd have to put that to Envisacor. I don't really know.

I was hoping they actually read the forum and would respond.

Maybe. Put it on the feature request thread, I know the lead engineer watches that thread.
