Firmware Update

Post by DeanRobinson »

Just a heads up for other user's: No big problem but I had one of my home alarms start sending error's that "I knew or felt" was incorrect. My landline phone was being dialed from the panel as well, I assume it was from the firmware version 118 update. However my other house has not got the update yet so not sure how it will react. Panel did settle down after about 3-5 Min.

That's when I checked the firmware version.

Looks like I was posting the same time the Grand Wizard was about the update being pushed out!

FYI, I too experienced a problem on one of my Ademco systems today as soon as the firmware update was pushed out. I logged in remotely via the secure portal and had no status for the system, and it said it was in exit delay - Trouble. When I moused over the word Trouble, a bubble popped up and it stated "service required". I sent a command to disarm twice to the panel remotely. It still said the same thing. I then issued a command to Arm Away. It then cleared the fault and Armed Away. I did not see any LRR errors. Everything looks fine now, hopefully. I guess I will make a special trip to the other property and see how things are locally on it's keypad.

I also had the exact same trouble message plus the alarm system sent me a page to my phone. Everything cleared up when I unarmed and then armed the system remotely. This all happen at 8:12 AM yesterday.

I have a couple of concerns as a result of this update. My system went from armed to this "exit delay - Trouble" mode, without any SMS messaging. I did get a page, but I doubt most people use the page option. So was my system still armed? If not, shouldn't I have gotten some kind of notification?

My other concern is with security of having the Envisalink attached to my alarm system. I know they make a point of not storing any pass codes on their servers, but what is to prevent a hacker from pushing out a bogus update that would disable everybody's system
