Hello, I have a DSC 1832 panel... I just got my evl-3 but having a hard time with the install. The red, black, green yellow terminals on the panel already have the corresponding coloured wires connected to it. Can't really tell what they're connected too... I tried to follow them but they all ended up in a wire jacket and I can't tell from there. Am I supposed to cut those wires and connect them to the evl-3 like in the video?
Thanks for any help.

Re: New Evl-3 install help
Hopefully someone can help?? I tried a google search and found the install videos and instruction but none mention the red, black etc ports already being occupied. I'd really appreciate some guidance.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: New Evl-3 install help
As it shows, right in the installation video, these connections are in parallel.

Re: New Evl-3 install help
Be aware that the video shows that the EVL black wire connects with the yellow wire on the panel bus. I guess that this is not correct and that it should connect with the black one.

LOL, I never noticed that. Yes, that wouldn't work so well!

I feel extremely stupid.. I apologize for taking up your time.

Re: New Evl-3 install help
Might be another dumb question, but where can I buy the wire needed to complete this installation? (The green, yellow, black, red wires)
What is the name and specs of the wire?
Thanks for your patience

Re: New Evl-3 install help
The Envisalink is professional security module so like all security equipment, it doesn't include any wire. This is because your wire runs could be 1' or 100', depending on where you mount the equipment.
Security professials generally use telephone "quad" cable which is available, in North America, by the metre/foot at Rona/Home Depot/Lowes/Home Hardware etc. This is solid-core 18AWG cable labelled in red, green, black and yellow. This cable has become increasing scarce as the telephone companies no longer use it. Most use 6/8 twisted pair for internal wiring these days.
Whether it is 4 wire, or twisted 6-8, as long as it is solid-core you will have no problems.
